Hennessey's Tavern Inc., announces sponsorship with the 2014 WPA Championships

The World Paddle Association (WPA) is proud to announce Hennessey’s Tavern Inc., renewing their sponsorship of the 2014 WPA Championships to be held at the Sirata Hotel & Resort in St. Petersburg/Clearwater FL on October 24-26, 2014. The St. Petersburg/Clearwater area will make for a great paddling event and will be the first time the WPA Championships has been held on the east coast.

Hennessey’s, the first event series to embrace the sport of stand up paddling in 2008, continues their support with the WPA and the growth of the sport. “Hennessey’s is extremely excited to again be a partner with the World Paddle Association and the WPA Championships.” Said Tim Ritter, race director for Hennessey’s Racing, “Hennessey’s Racing has conducted paddling events for 20 years and with the WPA for the last 5 years and to now expand to the east coast should make for another exciting event for Hennessey’s and everyone involved.” Since 2009, Hennessey’s Tavern Inc. and the WPA have conducted regional, national and International events through the WPA U.S. National Race Series and the WPA Championships each year.

Another event in conjunction with the WPA is the 2014 Hennessey’s Paddleboard Festival that will be conducted on Saturday, July 26th, 2014 at 9am at Torrance Beach (main parking lot), CA on the historic R10 course (8 miles) for the Long Course competitors on both Paddleboard and SUP and the Fun race (3 miles) and Kids race (1 mile) just off the beach along the South Bay coast and back.
