The SUP Trained Specialist exam is for anyone seeking further SUP education and their knowledge with boards, paddles, equipment, etiquette and water safety. Given the rapid growth of the stand-up paddling industry, the following study information and exam should serve as general guidelines to help educate retail sales associates, local agencies and those looking for further education. Please NOTE, a SUP Trained Specialist is not a certification to be a WPA instructor to teach lessons or conduct classes. You will need to attend a WPA Class I course to get certified as a WPA instructor. Good luck and paddle safe!
The WPA Class II exam is for a WPA Class I instructor looking for a higher level education with SUP, water safety, boating safety and water dynamics. All instructors MUST have attended a WPA Class I course and passed to be eligible to take and be listed as a WPA Class II instructor once you pass the exam. You MUST be a WPA Class I instructor! Good luck and paddle safe!
