2014 WPA Championships Event Schedule & Courses
The World Paddle Association (WPA) has attached the full event schedule and course maps below. The WPA Championships will be held at the Sirata Beach Resort in St. Petersburg, Florida October 23, 24, 25 & 26, 2014 will have open entry for all competitors in all races, however each competitor should decide which race with best suit their ability. PFD’s will be REQUIRED for ALL competitors in ALL races!

The top Pro paddlers will be competing in the Pro Technical race that will decide the Salt Life Cup which offers bonus money for the top male (SUP 14’) and female (SUP 12’6) point’s leader combined with the points from the WPA Championship and the title of WPA Champion. The Salt Life Cup standings are attached below along with the points available to the competitors who compete in the Pro Technical race with Men competing on SUP 14′ and Women on SUP 12’6.
The WPA Championships will include the following races and board divisions, 3-4 mile Open race, (Saturday), 1 & 2 mile Kids SUP races (Saturday), 5-6 mile SUP Pro technical race (Saturday) and 8-9 mile Distance race (Sunday). All races except for the Kids race and Technical race will be open to SUP, Paddleboard, OC1/OC2 and Surf Ski. A full race schedule with travel and hotel discounts are available along with registration on www.paddleguru.com/races. All race distances, times and days are tentative and subject to change given weather and conditions. Prize money will be offered for the Pro Technical race and Distance race to the first across the line finishers in each board class by gender. Prize money breakdown will be posted the week of the event with a minimum of 10 competitors per board class to qualify for prize money.
Clinics with the top athletes and sponsors will be run on Thursday, October 23 and Friday, October 24, 2014 and then championship races on Saturday, October 25th and Sunday, October 26th. Demos will be available all four days from the top board manufactures.
