The 2014 Golden Nugget was as awesome as it always is. Always at the end of the Region 6 Calendar, the Golden Nugget provides a fun, friendly finale for Paddlers in our area.
John Beausang of DistressedMullet.com had this to say:
It was a perfect day for racing. Sunny and warm, dolphins, light winds, light chop at spots, and happy paddles everywhere. Oh, and an angry Captain Bob on a shrimp boat. LOL. GET OUT OF THE WAY!
Half-Moon Outfitters did an amazing job organizing and running this race. Beezer, Janice, the Half-Moon staff and volunteers including wonder-volunteer, Melia Jacobs (who didn’t bake anything for the event, again!) were amazing. Every time we arrive in Charelston, we’re met with open arms on shore and a battle on water. Seeing people like the Holy City Paddlers (Adam and family), Danny, Jeremy, Damon, Rickard, … oh heck, look at the results. Going to a race like this means seeing about 100 friends or potential friends. It was so nice to see everyone.
Congratulations on not only paddling hard and competing or just enjoying yourselves, but also for your support of One-Eighty Place (formerly Crisis Ministries), a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing food, shelter and hope to end homelessness and hunger one person at a time, one family at a time.
