WPA Level 1 Certification Class-Seaside Park, NJ 5/9/2014
This is a 5-6 hour one day class/water instruction course designed to meet the WPA standards for Level 1 Instructor Certification.
This course is hosted by WPA Certified Instructors, Mark Colino and James Gregorio. Attendees are asked to bring bathing suits, rash guards/wetsuit top and towels for the water portion of the class. If you would like to bring your sup board and paddle, that’s great but not required. Lunch will be provided. Topics covered will be:
-Water safety
-Boating regulations
-Water rescue techniques
-Purchasing and traveling with sup equipment
-Safety planning and practices
-Paddle skills and lesson planning
Fees/Class requirements:
$295.00 course fee($75.00 yearly renewal fee included with first class)
American Red Cross or American Heart Association CPR certification. Must be 18 years old with a minimum of 3-5 instruction experience*(Can include other sport instruction) with at least one year of sup paddle experience. 80% score on class exam plus water sports liability insurance. *Please note you DO NOT have to have completed your CPR certification or acquired your water sports liability insurance to take this course. Once you complete the course, get your insurance and CPR certification you are then able to give lessons as a WPA Certified Level 1 Instructor.
