Westin Lake Las Vegas to host the 2013 WPA-Hennessey's World Paddle Championships

 

The World Paddle Association and Hennessey’s announces the Westin Lake Las Vegas to host the 2013 WPA-Hennessey’s World Paddle Championships on September 21, 2013.  The Westin Lake Las Vegas provides a unique paddling venue to have the worlds top paddlers compete on a man made lake with 10 miles of shoreline 20 minutes east of the Las Vegas strip.

Races to be included will be a 3.5 mile Open race, 8.5 mile race for the paddleboard stock, unlimited and SUP Unlimited classes, 5 mile multi lap SUP Slalom race and Open & Pro relay races.  Competitors will only need to qualify for the 5 mile SUP Slalom Championship race with details on the qualifying process to be announced.  All races will start and finish at the Westin lagoon that will offer exciting races for spectators and competitors.  Registration, travel packages, board transfers, prize money and additional information will be posted in the next two weeks.

Events to be included are SUP clinics, Westin Welcome Party, resort access, board transfers, party transfers and the longest running Awards Dinner Party in paddling hosted by Hennessey’s Tavern and Micky Finn’s in downtown Las Vegas.
