The Florida State Paddleboard Championship – Cocoa Beach, Florida

The Florida State Paddleboard Championship (FSPBC) is one of the longest running paddleboard races on the East Coast of the United States (since 2000).

It was the first race on the East Coast to offer a Stand Up Paddleboard division (in April 2007).

The FSPBC is held in conjunction with the Easter Surf Festival, a four day event that draws 15,000 to 20,000 spectators daily. It is held on Saturday, the busiest day. In 2014, the FSPBC will be held on April 19th.

This year it is the second race in the Region 5  WPA Points Series.

The FSPBC is a 7 mile open ocean race. The King and Queen of the Beach Competition (a 3 part sprint event consisting of a swim, paddle, and run) is held at the completion of the 7 mile race.

At the end of the competition, there is a free raffle offering high quality items which all paddlers have an opportunity to win.

All proceeds from the event go directly to the Cocoa Beach Surf Museum.
