Q: What does it mean for a race to be sanctioned by the WPA?

A: One of the primary goals of the WPA is to provide support for race directors. What this means is that the WPA provides services and benefits that includes race solutions (registration, payment, timing), insurance and guidelines to make for a better race experience for both the competitor and race directors.  Our partner, PaddleGuru provides the best all around race solution given cost, all in one process with timing and easy to run.

Q: Do all races need to be sanctioned by the WPA?

A: Races do not need to be sanctioned by the WPA, however races that are not sanctioned by the WPA will not be provide the same consistent guidelines, the best overall race solution and premium lower cost insurance access that covers participants through our partner, the Outdoor Insurance Group.  You will not find lower cost event insurance with the equal coverage.

Q: Do I have to be a member of the WPA to participate in a WPA Sanctioned event?

A: No, however your support helps offset some of the costs to implement all of the best solutions and time spent to provide you a better experience. As a member, you will also receive WPA rankings by board class, gender and age division.  All of the points for rankings are managed by our race solution partner PaddleGuru.
