New WPA Region 12 (TX/OK) Race Director Appointed

Jason Black appointed the new WPA Region 12 (TX/OK) Regional Race Director

The World Paddle Association (WPA) is proud to announce Jason Black being appointed as the new WPA Region 12 Regional Race Director for Texas and Oklahoma. Jason’s brings years of stand up paddle racing experience and knowledge of business to take over the position. Jason succeeds the regional director position that was held by Casey Gotcher.

“Jason brings great knowledge and experience to the WPA along with the dedication to help grow the sport of stand up paddling”, states Byron Kurt, co-founder of the WPA.  “I feel Jason will be able to provide the growth needed in his region of Texas and Oklahoma just as Casey provided in his tenure.”

“I am thrilled to be part of the WPA and to continue to help grow the Texas and Oklahoma race scene here in Region 12”, states Jason Black. “Having run my own race, I’m eager to share my experience with other race directors to help their events go as smoothly as possible”.

As with all WPA Regional Race Directors, Jason’s duties will be to evaluate and select the best races in his region to become a WPA sanctioned race and coordinate dates with all of the race directors so that no one WPA sanctioned race in his region conflicts with another event to get the best possible participation for every race. Jason will also help assist each race director with PaddleGuru and WPA event insurance and any other needs to put on a great event for all attendee’s.
