China WPA Sanctioning Body Announced!

The World Paddle Association (WPA) is proud to announce Bao Xuping has been appointed as the President of newly formed World Paddle Association (WPA)-China.

WPA China will organize Stand Up paddle competitions, train and certify coaches, judges and event officials as well as endorse safe, well run competitions, clubs and training facilities throughout Mainland China, Hong Kong, Chinese Taipei and Macau.

As the owner/producer of the Silver Dragon surf contest and Dragon Sk8 series, Bao brings a wealth of event production experience and knowledge of Chinese business practice to oversee the growth of Stand Up Paddling and Paddle Sports in China.

“Bao Xuping and his team bring great knowledge and experience to the WPA and the dedication to help grow the sport of stand up paddling and paddle sports in China and all Asia”, states Byron Kurt, co-founder of the WPA.  “With Bao’s background, he will help expand the WPA in all of Asia while educating his directors to be successful in their endeavors”, continues Kurt.

“I’m excited to become the President of the WPA-China given their investment and knowledge in the sport of SUP and Paddling”, states Bao Xuping.  “The WPA will give China the foundation to help grow the sport in the proper manner. We know that in order to build participation, we must develop the culture at the recreational level. It’s essential to have world class athletes participate while providing a division for newer competitors to aspire to” continues Bao.

The WPA China SUP Challenge – July 15, 2017

The WPA China SUP Challenge is a fun “developmental” race for both first time racers and local elite athletes (WST points will be provided to all competitors entered).

Qiandao Lake is the largest National Forest Park in China with forest coverage of as high as 95% and green looking ratio of almost 100%. It is reputed for clear water with 17.8 billion cubic meter of water body and 9-12 meter visibility. It has gradually been developed into an international leisure resort.
